There are several different facial rejuvenation procedures, each targeting a different area of the face and neck to achieve the best and most attractive results.

At our San Francisco plastic surgery practice, Dr. Kimberly Henry performs facial plastic surgery procedures to help patients achieve a more youthful appearance. Dr. Henry can evaluate your individual medical condition and the results you are hoping to achieve before recommending a treatment plan.

Forehead Lift (Brow Lift)

Upper facelift, sometimes called a brow lift, generally concentrates on tightening the skin between the eyebrows and the hairline. Fine wrinkles, deeper creases, and drooping skin in this area of the face can create an unattractive look and make the patient look older than he or she is.

By making incisions in the scalp and elevating the forehead, an upper facelift can lift the brows and create a more appealing appearance to the upper forehead. An upper facelift can dramatically improve the look of the entire face.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery is designed to remove excess fat and skin from the area surrounding the eyes. Upper eyelid surgery targets the drooping skin on the upper lids, while lower eyelid surgery reduces the appearance of puffy bags beneath the eyes.

Facelift

A facelift targets the middle third of the patient’s face. Using incisions made in the hairline, the surgeon lifts and repositions the skin over the cheekbone to create a more toned and smoother appearance.

Facelift surgery is commonly used to reduce the appearance of sagging cheeks and nose-to-mouth lines. A facelift may be combined with eyelid surgery, also called blepharoplasty, to freshen the facial appearance.

Neck Lift

Neck lift surgery may be used to reduce sagging or drooping loose skin in the area on and around the neck. Small incisions are made in the skin, typically along the earlobe or behind the ear, to remove loose skin and reposition the skin to create a firmer appearance.

Excess fat in the neck area may be removed using liposuction as part of neck lift. However, patients whose skin has good elasticity may find their skin firms up after liposuction, without the need for the lifting surgery.

In some cases, neck lift is performed along with a facelift, creating a more dramatic improvement in the patient’s appearance.  Just as a facelift rejuvenates and revitalizes the skin around the face, a neck lift helps achieve a more balanced and youthful appearance by improving the look of the skin on the neck.
