Blepharoplasty (eyelid lift surgery) offers dramatic results, creating a more youthful and alert appearance. An eyelid lift by Dr. Kimberly Henry can provide the rejuvenated look you desire. It can be tailored to address the upper and lower eyelids.
DR. HENRY: So, I’m driving the freeway, and I just finished my fellowship in plastic surgery. And I’m looking in the rearview mirror and I’m going blepharoplasty. I need a blepharoplasty. I have upper eyelid skin redundancy I couldn’t stand. And merely called them myself. And back then, you know, I’m going to say almost 19 years ago we had big cell phones. So, I’m on the phone making my appointment for my blepharoplasty. It was an easy operation. It took about 45 minutes. I had it under local, but you can have it under general, and that’s usually the way we do it. The sutures stayed in for about four or five days. And it just really improved my appearance as far as my upper eyelid area. I didn’t look as tired. People didn’t say, “Oh, you know, are you mad? Do you need some sleep?” And it’s just a wonderful operation, easy to day. Common operation for men. It’s not an operation that everyone needs, but a lot of people can benefit from a blepharoplasty. Well, when you do a blepharoplasty you’re removing excess skin, and you’re removing a little bit of the fatty tissue there. That’s for the upper lids. For the lower lids it’s a little more involved. You’re sometimes removing a little bit of fat. Sometimes supporting and sort of rotating muscles to give sort of a nicer, cleaner look to the lower lid so they’re not as puffy.
