Jaw Enlargement

Consultations offered at our four convenient locations in Marin County, San Francisco, Davis and Petaluma, CA

Jaw enlargement can be considered by anyone who feels that his or her jaw width is too narrow or who wants a more square or robust look to his or her face or jaw line.

During the jaw enlargement operation, an incision is made in the mucous membranes near the wisdom teeth. Next, biologically correct implants are carefully placed, and the incision is then simply closed. A puncture through the skin over the jaw may be necessary if the implants are fixed in place with screws. During your initial consultation, Dr. Henry will help you determine how much augmentation you need to achieve desired results.

Dr. Henry and her team of specialists will provide you with several options to achieve your aesthetic goals.

Jaw enlargement procedure is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. The patient recuperates at home. There is usually moderate swelling for the first 7-10 days. Because of the location of the incisions, the mouth needs to be kept free of food particles and debris during the postoperative period – otherwise, infections can develop.

Additional plastic surgery procedures at our San Francisco Bay area centers that may enhance your jaw enlargement results are cheek implants, chin enlargement, rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), or blepharoplasty (eyelid lift).
